Last Sunday we had a fun day in Harajuku with Kimiko (a former student of Dean's). Went to the Togo Shrine antique market which is held on the first Sunday of every month. It's a fabulous market for finding anything Japanese - ceramics, dolls, kimonos and fabrics, lacquer ware, tools, paintings, calligraphy, jewelry, and all kinds of other antiques. We really enjoyed being with a Japanese speaker - what a plus it was! Following our foray around the market we walked through the streets of Omote Sando and had a scrumptious buffet lunch at one of our favourite healthy organic cafes - Hiroba in the basement of Crayon House.

Another fun thing to do in Harajuki is to go people watching.... at Harajuku Station...the seriously strange and hip gather and engage in 'cosplay' (costume play). They dress up in weird and wonderful costumes and pose for onlookers. Quite amazing to see...
