On Valentine's Day we went to the Police concert at the Tokyo Dome. What a great concert. 25,000 people all standing for most of the show. Loved the light show and big screens. Definitely would have been hard to see without the screens! Sting really is hot! ouch!
We had a fun time on Friday evening celebrating Chinese new year with friends in Chinatown, Yokohama. There was a dragon parade, fireworks, costumes, crowds of people and lots of food!
Following the parade we took shelter from the freezing wind in the Seafarer Bar at the Hotel New Grand and enjoyed a pleasant drink. The remainder of the evening we feasted on Chinese food at the Peking Hanten. All in all a happy new year!
Saturday (my birthday!!) came and went very quietly - breakfast in bed and a long, lazy, day snuggled inside out of the cold, finished off with a lovely dinner enjoyed with friends at their apartment. It was cold when we stepped back out on the street to come home. The taxi driver excitedly predicted snow and lo and behold today (Sunday) we awoke to big snowflakes and a carpet of snow....

Girls' night out on Friday at Junkadelic, a funky little Mexican restaurant down a narrow little street in Naka Meguro. Lots of margueritas and junkadelicious tex-mex food. It was a fun night! Check out their website - it's funkadelic!
Thursday evening we discovered Tokyo Midtown - wow! What a feast for the eyes. Opened in March 2007, Tokyo Midtown is an upmarket shopping and dining experience in the heart of Roppongi. It was fun to take in all the glamour and sparkle of some of Tokyo's finest. Tokyo Midtown is home to the Ritz Carlton, The Suntory Museum of Art, The Tokyo Midtown Design Hub and 21_21 Design Sight. It's also the headquarters for Fuji.
Tokyo is an amazing city....
On Wednesday the celebrations began with dinner at My Humble House - a singaporean/chinese restaurant in Ginza. Very lovely restaurant with fabulous food and ambience. The chef, Sam Leong who was in town this week from Singapore, came out to chat with us. We enjoyed a six course menu that was divine.
The same evening we discovered Ginza Hands - the Ginza Tokyu Hands store. Dean was in heaven. It is an amazing store, you could spend hours in there.
