green tea

I enjoyed an afternoon tea Japanese style today with two of my Japanese friends. I always feel so fortunate to be in the company of lovely ladies who are sympathetic to my gaijin inadequacies with Japanese language and culture. I learn so much whenever I spend time with them!

We shared a special type of leaf green tea that had to be timed with an egg timer and drunk at precisely the right moment! There were even detailed instructions provided. (Thank goodness for illustrations!)
And to continue the green tea theme....green tea waffles and green tea ice cream were a delightful accompaniment....
